#147 - Lately I've been...

running errands dressed all in blue/double denim | catching up on my magazines, I adore Sophia Vergara | eating far too much Chinese food, and having to take our mains home to eat in bed at midnight | studding my new leather jacket, wasn't a fan of the studs already on it | favouring Model's Own colours for the perfect A/W nail | taking too many photos of the gorgeous sunsets we've been having, I love having a velux window :) | spending my Sunday afternoon in bed watching Studio Ghibli movies | eating too many Angel Slices, damn Sainsburys and your cheap deals | trying to also eat more healthily | lighting all my candles as it gets darker much earlier | picked up my contact lense build up at Specsavers, think they gave me enough solution... | loving 3/4 length sleeve tops, cosy tights & a flowy skirt, ala Miss Deschanel

etc:
- It's my birthday on Thursday, and I'm seriously excited. As I get older I obviously don't get as giddy, but I think it's because this will be the first time in about six months that myself and all of my friends, I mean all of them, will be gathered together. Really can't wait to go out and see everyone!

- I've been recently introduced to The XX, and I can safely say I'm a fool for only just bothering to listen to them. They're currently the band I listen to in the evening/night while I chill out. My favourite song right now is Angels, absolutely gorgeous song.
If anyone has any similar bands to recommend me, let me know! :)

What have you been upto this week? :)

tents | toffee & cinnamon ice cream (admittadly not from Ikea) | Ikea food, amazing!

sneaky night out in Popworld

Had quite a lazy week, but somehow I've got a lot done. Spent about five hours in Ikea playing House & hunting down the mirror I've been after; we also might've gotten hot dogs & milkshake after tea for the car ride home...
I've also got a couple of job interviews and some other interesting things in the pipeline for this upcoming week. I'm also going to find a good spot to take some proper outfit photos so I can get back into the swing of doing them :)

What've you been upto lately? :)

Week in Photos

courtesy of photovisi.com

(apologies for the crap photo quality; Blogger's not letting me have nice things apparantly!)

Catching up with Modern Family eps and a share box of nuggets after a
hard night at work - favourite snack atm; chilli coated peanuts
this candle smells amazing, making me wanna go to Cornwall right now
photo from my WIWT profile - new book for 1p, can't wait to start it
S&G mascara w/ Elle magazine - parcel from Benefit, more to come soon
Fajita chicken pasta from Tesco is gorgeous - makin' bracelets!

- Mainly photos of food this week, but nothing new there! I've been craving chicken pasta for ages now and Tesco have stocked up on Fajita Chicken pasta which is brilliant, I love it.
- Currently about halfway through the second book of the Hunger games trilogy; Catching Fire. I cannot wait for the movie in March! But this will be the next book to devour; I love James Frey's style, I go through his books in about a day.
- Sneak peek at a Benefit post I'll be popping up through the week :)
- Heard a few bad reviews on the S&G mascara that came with Elle but I personally like it. It is quite a wet formula but I layer a waterproof mascara on top and it's fine. In a couple of weeks when it's dried out a little it'll be even better.
- I now have a WIWT profile so if you have one too either leave the link in a comment, or follow mine; I'd like to follow more people I sort of know from here haha

Week in Photos

(I would like to apologise for the different qualities in photos - some were with a camera, others with my crappy phone camera)

- Catching up on some wrestling from the other week

- A couple of cheeky purchases; the formula's so good, they haven't chipped in five days!
- Filling myself up with tea and the nicest (store bought) popcorn ever
- Didn't have to embrace the cold on Bonfire night as I could see about them from ten different places from my window :)
- The aftermath of my birthday night out, I should be renamed Calamity Jane
- Jack bought Athur for my birthday but the git on the till didn't take the security tag out so we (I obviously mean Jack, but I like to think of us as a team) had to hack into the box with pliers, thanks HMV ¬_¬
- Started watching The Office US this week and wish I had done so sooner, it's so funny, Dwight is a legend
- One of many gorgeous sunsets from my window this week
- My favourite song at the mo is Ever by Team Sleep, the side-project of Deftones singer Chino. (The links are to various songs of theirs) They're not everyone's cup of tea, but I love both bands and this song's so nice to chill out to.

I've also been filling up, or attempting to anyway, the 80gb classic iPod I got for my birthday from my parents. I've already put around 600 songs on there and it's hardly made a dent to the space! Any suggestions of bands/artists I should download, I have more than enough space :)

I will have some more interesting posts coming up soon, I'm just bogged down with uni work atm :/ roll on Christmas holidays!

Week in Photos

- Picked up my NUS card with an embarrassingly posed photo after locating the Student Union. Our new student centre is too hip and doesn't blend in with the old buildings, but they do a venti tea for £1.65, brilliant!

- Mid-uni work snack of Caramel Nibbles from Home Bargain. At 49p a pop I'm keeping a stash in my desk.

- Got this bread in my Graze box this week - popped it in the microwave to warm up, it's gorgeous ^_^

- Badly chipped nails after only a day of wear, not a happy bunny :(

- Gorgeous rings I bought from Lily at JWLRY - I'm in love with the turquoise eye one, it's so cool.

- Just an insight to my spider-like handwriting in my Moleskin diary, and my Reporting Government work, it's pretty tedious learning everything.
- A friend gave me a sample of the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser which I used this morning, and I will definitely be buying it on payday!

Other things to happen:
- Purchased a couple of items from Lyzi's blog sale; will be featuring them in an outfit post tomorrow :)
- Found this blog, definitely my new favourite blog to read before bed.
- Listened to a lot of Chili Peppers this week - favourite song!
- Organising my birthday night out since it's my birthday next Tuesday! Can't wait, I'm just trying to narrow down my outfit options... no pressure ;)

Does anyone have a favourite blog I should check out? I am in need of some new'uns to add to my list :)

Week in Photos

Haven't done one of these for a while, just a few photos of uninteresting things, and food.
- Before heading to Wales a few weeks ago, we met our friend Alex's new kitten; Tigerlily. She's so cute and mischevious, we tried to take her to the cottage but she hid under the sofa^_^
- Myself and Luke playing on Kev's Mac. The rollercoaster Photobooth option's so fun :')
- If I can add cheese onto food at any point, I will.
- The perfect accompaniment to a rainy afternoon.
- Hope with Heather's dog, Ozzy, one of the rare moment he stays still.
- As above, I love cheese. This is my favourite comfort food - pasta, ketchup and cheese, nom.
- It was Jack's 21st a few weeks ago and his dad's friend's a photographer, so he got the oblig. cheesy group and couple shots. I really like this one though, so have it :)

Later tonight I'm going with Jack to see The Inbetweeners movie, loking forward to it so I hope this rain goes off :(
Has anyone seen the movie yet?

Week in Photos

I'm cheating slightly as some of these photos are from the week before I was in Cornwall, just haven't had the chance to share them, doubt you'll mind!

- Playing round with my mum's camera, being vain. it makes me look quite red though, dunno how to use the different settings

- Went with Heather & Danni for a Nandos before Cornwall; medium chicken wings, garlic bread and Peri Peri chips, nom!

- We found a Heather-sized cash machine on the way to BaaBar!

- Last week's Graze box, all so nice think I demolished it that night. Use code C3MVH3H for a free trial box and your second half price

- The ring and bracelet I treated myself to in Perranport. The bracelet's quite long so when it drags across my arm I freak thinking it's a spider or a bug :/

- More empty products for my Project 10 Pan thing, I think I've gone over 10 items by now, but I'll just keep going, doing pretty well

- Our friend Donna moved to London so we went for a farewell meal to Big Bowl Noodle on Berry St, the guys in there know us cos we can't stop going! We all had Satay chicken w/ fried rice, yummy!
If you live in Liverpool please check it out, it's cheap, they do student discount and the portions are huge, I'm not joking!

- Hope's bosom was flashing in Hannah's Bar later that night...

- The gorgeous flowers in our front garden, haven't a clue what they're called but I like'em :)

- One of many cups of tea since being home. This mug is so cool, it's got a lid to keep it at the perfect temperature

- The Body Shop products I purchased using the Groupon voucher I got aaages ago - paid £12 for £30 worth of products. I used it on the very last day as I'd forgotten about it, oops!
I'm very happy with what I got and will do any reviews if you would like?

I'm currently flitting between tidying the house & packing my suitcase in the hopes my passport arrives in time for Turkey on Monday!
I had my interview, but my dad had to drive me to Blackburn as Liverpool's office had no free dates, typical for me! But I rang earlier and the man said it had been printed s should arrive over the weekend, I really hope it does as I'd be devastated if I couldn't go :( Fingers crossed you guys!

Are you going abroad this year? Anywhere nice? :)

Week (and a bit) in Photos

It's been about a fortnight, I know, I know. But uni's nearly over, just got a few bits to pull through next week and I'm finished until October, and I'm all yours :)

- After I tore apart my old rickety desk, my new one is up but I'm yet to take a photo of it, so bear with me if you're actually interested haha. It feels really nice to sit properly instead of lounging on my bed with my laptop all the time, makes me feel more productive I guess?

- Me in my Catastrophe Cosmetic mask from Lush. It's gorgeous, smells of bluberries and leaves my skin really soft and less red. Only down side is when it's drying, it goes slightly powdery, but I can live with it.

- The newsagents by mine sells huuge bags of my favourite M&M's for £1.50, guess who's getting all my spare pennies from now on?
- What I've been flicking through this week, having finished reading Strangers by Dean Koontz - he's such a talented thriller/sci fi writer, worth checking out!

- Movies I have/am going to watch this week. Already watched 40 Y-O Virgin and The Incredibles, plan to watch the modern Romeo & Juliet and maybe Ed Wood later tonight.

- Heather got a car for her 21st, we named it Tracey Beeper! haha awesome name :')
We drove up to Ormskirk to do some stuff at uni and had a look for stuf for her house party on Saturday. Picked up the shoes below for £19.99 in New Look, they're so comfy on, I love the chunky heel.

- The awesome cupcakes my mum's friend made for Heather, they looked gorgeous and tasted yummy.
And the stand they're on was handcrafted by Hope in my lean-to, with a stereo box, cellotape and silver spray paint. I supervised and made the tea ^_^

A couple of photos from her 21st house party and we then ventured into town for flavoured tequila, ridiculous dancing and sweaty times in The Krazyhouse. Such a fun night, everyone was really drunk, but thankfully no nasty drunks :P

Also I'm currently updating my Ipod for some summer tunes and for when we go to Cornwall in two weeks. Any fun/relaxing songs I should download?
