#145 - NOTW

Yep, I am an awful blogger, yadda yadda. Basically life got in the way, and I just didn't find the time to blog over the last month or so. But I have several posts lined up over the next couple of weeks, and a few ideas that I'll build on, see what happens. I've written up a vague "schedule" of when and what I can realistically post. It probably sounds quite lame having done that, but I am such a procrastinator, so f I don't have something like that I just won't end up doing it, and that's no fun is it?

So starting off lightly with a quick NOTW (admittedly from three weeks ago, oops) but this has fast become one of my favourite shades for A/W.


 




It's a thick, creamy off white/cement/super pale green shade, opaque in two coats and dried really quickly. 
It lasted on me about four days without chipping at all, and that's with using the OPI Rapidry topcoat - my new found favourite.

I would apologise for the state my fingers are in in that last photo, but my basket of fucks is empty I'm afraid. I prefer to let it come off itself, which it usually does by the end of the first day.

I'll be back Wednesday with a little updated photo post and some details about what I've been up to, if it's of any interest that is. I've been making cakes and watching lots of Breaking Bad! Oh my god, I love Breaking Bad. and food. Nothing much has changed really.

#139 - May Favourites

I think this is the earliest I've posted my favourites, go me! I have quite a few items this month but I've grouped them up to make it an easier read!

 

 Nails 

OPI in Mermaid's Tears | Models Own in Fuzzy Peach | Maybelline Forever Strong in Ceramic Blue

These are the three main colours I've been reaching for this month, a nice mix of pastel and more neon shades. Mermaid's Tears is a lovely sea green, it's my perfect green and is so easy to apply and dries fast.
I am yet to brave wearing Models Own Hedonist on my nails, but I may use it as an accent nail when I next use Fuzzy Peach, might be a nice combo. Ceramic Blue is a gorgeous pale blue with shots of metallic blue/purple shot through it, It's opaque in two coats and with a top coat lasts on my for about six days with minimal tip wear.

 

Face

I was using the Bourjoid 123 Perfect foundation, but since the weather's perked up a little (I type this looking out my window at a dreary sky threatening to rain, ha!) I went back to this as the formula's much lighter, and it smells soo good! The colours a limited but this is the lightest shade and it's fine on me.

St Ives scrub has been an essential in my routine for at least seven years now, it's my favourite scrub ever. I use this three times a week to give my face a really good clean; I love using it after a 10hr shift in work, really makes my skin feel amazing.

This is my go-to moisturiser, not much to say but it is brilliant for oily/combination skin, I am yet to find a better one, and at such a good price.

I got this in Home Bargain for 99p! a month ago, as I'm still on the quest for whiter teeth. This really does work, I use it twice a day and it has definitely improved the colour.

 Hair

Berber Hair Oil | Pure Coconut Hair Repair | Charles Worthington No Frizz Serum

This is my favourite product from the Birthday Glossybox, it really is brilliant at conditioning my hair, stopping frizz and reducing drying time when I blowdry my hair. I got this coconut treatment again in trust Home Bargain (seriously, look there for hair products before Boots/Superdrug, they're ridiculously cheap!) and have been using it on the ends of my hair twice a week, leaving it on for ten minutes. It makes my hair softer, smoother and easier to style. The serum doesn't need much said, it does its job brlliantly, tames my flyaways and gives my hair extra shine.

 

 Misc.

Garnier Summerbody Gradual Tan in Deep | Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf

I really dislike using fake tans, so this is perfect for me. I apply it after every shower and it gives me a really deep but natural looking tan. A friend commented on it last week, thinking I had been abroad, back of the net! It doesn't go streaky, the smell is pleasant, and it doesn't wash off if you get your skin wet. It's currently oart of the 3 for 2 at Boots too so I'd suggest you give it a go!

This has been my favourite perfume since I bought it on the plane to Turkey last June; it's strong but not overpowering, gorgesouly and fruity/floral. Whenever I smell it, I'm instantly taken back to my holiday last year, which makes me really happy. I'm pretty bad at descrbing perfumes, but give it a whiff you won't be disappointed!

#127 - Nails of the day

I decided I need some form of consistency with this blasted thing, something to remind me to keep it as fresh and updated as possible, and since I change my nail colour more than I really should, why not share it with you lovely people ^_^

Today's nail of the day is more nail of the week, and yes, it is another Rimmel varnish! I can't get enough of their creamy consistency, hard wearing colour and at just £4, (often on the 3 for 2 offer) who can resist chucking one or two in their basket?!
I took my own advice from last week's post and used a light base coat so I would need fewer coats of this. I chose to use OPI's Stranger Tides, a pale creamy colour with a hint of green, perfect base colour! This then went on like a dream, only needing two thin coats, and a topcoat of course.
This shade is Peppermint, I will be experimenting to see if this shade and last week's shade (Aqua Cool) will go well together as a leopard print or something original like that... stay tuned for that cracker!

Just a quick post on some things I've picked up recently and loved from the get go.
After seeing Vivianna's post and video on her updated Nailcare Routine and Collection, which included her raving about OPI's Nail Envy nail strengthener, saying her nails are in great condition after using it.
As a serial nail painter, my poor nails have taken a severe beating over the years, and are currently quite weak and peeling. Certainly doesn't help that I've been wearing false nails for the last month in an attempt to hide my poor nails!

Vivianna said the OPI Nail Envy collection are priced at £18 each, but Ebay's a good place to hunt for a bargain if you can't justify forking out that much. So I had a little geg and found this seller, and snapped up the OPI Nail Envy and OPI's Rapi Dry top coat for just £17.95 - 5 pence cheaper than one bottle alone. I couldn't ignore this brilliant deal so snapped them up with free P+P.
The seller stated 2nd class delivery takes between 4-6 days which I obviously didn't mind, but I ordered these Thursday afternoon, and by the time I woke up on Friday, they were waiting for me on the hall table - talk about excellent service!
I'm unsure if they still have this offer running, but I would definitely reccommend looking at this seller's item as they have lots of OPI, Essie, Shellac and other high quality nailcare brands available.

Another item I'm loving is my Travalo. I ordered it just before Christmas from Amazon as it was on offer for £5 instead of £10 which, being honest I would've begrudged paying, and it arrived within two days. At a tiny 8cm tall, it's the perfect size to shove in my bag for whenever I need it, I despise lugging round awkward shaped perfume bottle; I always lose the lid and it sprays in my bag, sad, but nice smelling times :|
You just remove the spray nozzle of your perfume bottle and there is a small rubber bit on the bottom of the Travalo that you attach to the tube and simply pump it up and down until the little gauge has filled up, so easy and fool-proof.

Also, I've just resized my photos on trust Picnik only to see a notice that it's shutting down in April, and moving their facilities to Google+. It's probably going to be exactly the same, but I'm not a fan of Google+. I'm also writing this and realising I'm possibly the last person to see this notice and I'm just rambling on for no reason whatsoever, so I'm going to shut up now and return to my cuppa and Jersey Shore :)
