Week in Photos

Just a quick bit on my week, nothing too interesting but I may be getting a job at my old work back, which would be amazing! Probably a different position, but I've applied to so many places and not one has gotten back to me, I'll be grateful for anything they can give me!

- Went with Jack to see Apollo 18 on Thursday, using my Odeon card points so we saw it for free :P It's pretty good, but really jumpy, I was such a wimp I kept screaming and digging my nails into poor Jack's arm; he was just as scared though, hehe.

- I tend to spend more time on Tumblr than I do blogging on here, it's just so much easier to keep my page updated and I can write whatever I want without constant judgement. If anyone has a Tumblr, please either leave your url in a comment or follow mine :)

- Just a couple of outfits I had photographed about a month ago but never made it on here. Not the best, but they're both pretty comfy, which is generally what I look for in an outfit.

- Spent yesterday and today re-watching Supernatural Season Five. I'm a huge fan of the show and regularly watch it with my good friend Alex. We've already seen this season, but since he got the first chunk of Season Six, I need to remind myself of what happened before!

- Finally got round to painting my nails in a leopard print style, using Model's own nail art pen and Models Own varnish in Purple Poppy, Jade Stone and Lemon Meringue. I don't think I've done too bad for my first try, nowhere near as good as Charlene or Gem, but I'll get there ;)

- Just a couple of cheeky plugs to end this on a high.
I also went to see my best friend Heather's band, My Awakening play on Friday. It was their first gig since recording their EP. I'm not being biased but they are really good, and I'm so pround of her ^_^

- And finally, as some of you may know, my ridiculously talented boyfriend is a professional wrestler and has already had some amazing matches and opportunities in his short career, but he is featured in this month's Fighting Spirit magazine as "The One to Watch".
I couldn't be prouder of him, he's done so well in such a short time. He's set up a Facebook page for his wrestling persona, so if you're interested please go watch his matches and give him a like :) Let me know if you do!

Since Shorthand has been cancelled for this week due to my tutor swanning off to London, I have enough time to get my to-do list underway - I find making lists and spider-webs easier to manage than saving random notes in my phone!

I'm spending today updating this with a couple of posts, and sorting my room out and hoovering the house.
Tomorrow however, I am spending the morning stood outside Waterstones in town in single-file, to see Russell Brand at a book signing! I know he's not everyone's cup of tea ( the Mother said "Oh, never mind, you'll soon see sense" when I told her about it) but I find him hilarious, especially in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him To the Greek - two of my favourite movies!

But enough of the incessant typing and chitchat, I have been inspired by Laura at Romance is Boring to do a tongue-in-cheek post on "What's in My Bag" as I also don't own luxurious hand creams and whatnot; the fanciest thing in my bag is my perfume and River Island purse, which was a treat to myself last year.

I think it's pretty obvious I tend to have girl crushes that have dark hair and gorgeous eyes, and the next two are no expection - I'm pleased to have an excuse for featuring photos of Natalie Portman on my blog without seeming too peculiar. (EDIT: I had to Google the word peculiar, and now I've seen it that many times it no longer looks like a word, damn mind/vocab)

Natalie Portman is set to star in a new film later this year, called Black Swan. Co-starring with Mila Kunis (love her/want to be her) and Winona Ryder (not such a fan of, but never mind!)

The plot summary on IMDB is: "Nina (Portman) is a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her obsessive former ballerina mother Erica (Hershey) who exerts a suffocating control over her. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side - a recklessness that threatens to destroy her."

Annnd apparantly Natalie and Mila "get it on" - not my words, that's definitely something a boy would write.

Anyway, release date is December 1 so there's plenty of time to make plans around that date, it's not one to miss!

"Hello, Um"

Alice in Wonderland last night was really fun. Wasn't as dark and ominous as I was expecting, but I still enjoyed it.
One bug bear - The Futterwacken the Hatter did at the end totally ruined it; could have definitely made it less shit/left it out.

I do, however, love that Anne Hathaway was cast as The White Queen; she made the character believable and I loved the little weird things she did with her hands, the swan-like way she glided across the screen. Mwah, gorgeous.

Also, Heather's Randy Jackson impression was definitely not obvious!

I haven't updated this in a while as I'v been milking my Easter hols for all it's worth, i.e sat on my arse, eating, watching as much ANTM/CNTM/movies that I can get my hands on.
I finally caught I Love You, Man. Funnier than advertised, Jason Segel strolling down the road with his hybrid dog in Uggs made my day.

I highly reccommend it.

I'v been going out with the 'gang' quite a lot lately, basically ever since I got my uni money I'v been rollin' in the Benjamins ^__^
But it's great seeing everyone pretty much every week, having an awesome night out, what's even better though is rolling into work the next day without a hangover. I'v taken it to be quite a skill of mine, I intend to keep it that way.
